Ault Academy has successfully implemented Positive Behavior Intervention & Support (PBIS) by developing school’s preferred behavioral expectation that reflects our vision & purpose.  In January 2015, the school leadership team drafted Ault Academy’s preferred behavioral expectations and involved all staff, students & stakeholders to participate in this process. It has now become a school wide practice that has all staff engaged in consistent class by class routines that reflects Ault Academy’s preferred behavioral expectations of all students. Students now know what school’s behavioral expectations look like, feel like and sound like both inside and outside the classroom. This is evident in the data shown below that the number of students who consistently scored stated goal of positive behavior points each month has increased.  The school’s discipline referral forms have been fine tuned in that the number of students being referred for discipline has been noticeably reduced. In celebration of this change process evident in our students’ behavior we conclude each month with our popular event among our students – PBIS party!  Consequently, PBIS has significantly contributed to our school climate in establishing an environment of productivity, safety & learning for all students.

We are just beginning to plan for our HUGE event of National School Choice Week!!!! We want to make this the most memorable time here at Ault Academy!

What is National School Choice Week?

Held every January, National School Choice Week shines a postive spotlight on effective education options for every child.

The goal of National School Choice Week (NSCW) is to raise public awareness of all types of education options for children. These options include tradtional public schools, public charter schools, magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.

To meet the goal, NSCW encourages schools, organizations, and individuals to hold positive events that celebrate school choice options, while drawing attention to the need for even greater opportuntites for children.

Started in 2011, NSCW has grown into the world's largest celebration of opportunity in education. The week is a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort. We welcome all Americans to get involved and to have voices heard!
